Prepartory Phase, Day 2

Well good news. Even with "prepping" for the detox, my tongue seems to think that it's already detoxing. I noticed this morning that it had white stuff on the back end of it. Nathan described it as "yellow". I don't know if color makes a difference, but maybe I won't have to be on it for the full 10 days if my body is already excreting toxins. That means I can go running soon!

Read Philippians 4 today. I decided to reread the book after our conversation a few weeks ago. I can't believe how much God has done miraculous things in our lives that we may rest in Him. Nathan got an offer at Watlow today and it's his to take...that is if Chesapeake offers him something. We'll see where God leads us and seek His will in everything!

Breakfast: Green smoothie- chard, spinach, banana, frozen strawberries, blended with a water base.
Stool: mud color and separate pieces
Snack: Broccoli with olives

...will update on dinner.

Prepatory Phase, Day 1

I'm realizing how distracted I can get from things that matter most. I have not spent quality time with my Father for about a week. I fail to understand what are the most important priorities in this life and that it is not achieving earthly successes but being still in the Lord.

I have a lot to keep me occupied, which means less time thinking about carbs. I have had superfood juice, oranges, broccoli with cilantro and lemon juice, orange juice, and peanut butter. In the next 2 days, I say bye-bye to peanut butter.

Here is my prayer, Lord give me strength during this time and let me look to you when times of struggling occur. I thank you for the changes in Nathan and my life and you blessing us with interviews and the opportunity for relocation. Although, I am nervous about the process, bring us peace. Let us be still and know that you are God. We give you praise and glory...amen.

Psalm 72:17-19

His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and [men] shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed. Blessed [be] the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed [be] his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled [with] his glory; Amen, and Amen.

Preparation

The first day of this blog, but not the first day of the challenge. Preparing for this in advance let's me know that this is real, or at least it's going to be.

My sister, a certified nutritionist, is coming up with a safe cleanse and detox plan for me. Details include no refined sugars, refined flours, wheat, eggs, dairy, fatty foods, chemicals, drugs, meats, alcohol, caffeine (ugh, that one is the worst!). The cleanse comes in three phases.

Preparatory Phase: 1 to 2 days prior to fast/cleanse
  • Eliminate all the things listed above from diet.
  • No multivitamins
  • Increase water to 64 oz. minimum.
Detox Program: 7 to 10 days, or when "white fuzzies" appear on tongue.
  • All of the above, but instead only fresh fruit, veggies, juices, and herbal teas
Breaking Fast Phase: 2 to 3 days after detox
  • Whole grains
  • Squashes, and other veggies, stir fry
  • Add honey to teas and juices
  • Add nuts, seeds or legumes on 2nd day, limit one serving.
Other details added later....
